Maria is a passionate and skilled advocate. Fluent in Urdu and Hindi, Maria’s culturally sensitive advice helps her clients of all backgrounds navigate difficult disputes in an informed and cost-effective manner.
Maria draws on her experience as former counsel for the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee. She also worked as a lawyer at a legal clinic in Windsor where she trained and supervised law students in addition to serving low income clients. She articled at Victims Services, the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee and the Office of the Children’s Lawyer. Each of these roles informed Maria’s ability to understand complex family dynamics and provide creative client-centered solutions.
Maria was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2015. She has a J.D. from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, and a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto in anthropology.
At Arkin Furrow Estate Law, Maria uses litigation, mediation and other tools of advocacy to achieve successful outcomes for her clients in trust and estates matters.
Outside of the office, Maria loves reading and writing, and particularly likes graphic novels. She also enjoys to blow off steam in kickboxing classes.
